New PC Set Up & Deployment Process SET UP Make sure all the user's files is on onedrive Create a "new PC" folder on the desktop and add some info there to help I.e. printer, Chrome and Edge bookmarks and passwords, PC Name and shared folders etc. (Archive pst files in a .7z file and also keep it in the "New PC" folder Make sure the laptop is connected wired connection Format windows using SCCM bootable usb or Network -(From BIOS Virtualization make sure to disable Kernel DMA Protection, Inter Virtualization Techm VT, VT-d and VTX, Enable Secure Boot)- DELL BIOS (F2) BOOT OPTION(F12)-LENOVO BIOS (F1) BOOT OPTION(F12) Windows updates, Microsoft Store updates and Brand updates (Dell Supportassist, Lenovo Vantage, HP Support Assistant, MyAsus) Add PC name using agent credentials (Ex. L027231HASSAN : L = Laptop, D = Desktop, A = All in One > 02 = Company Number > 7231 = Department Number > HASSAN = User's Name) Change domain name to masaood.ae Restart Log into the users profile (Email & Password Given by IT) Make sure Windows is activated Desktop Icons (Right click desktop > Personalize > Themes > Desktop Icon Settings > Check all box) Date Format dd/mm/yyyy (regional Format UAE) Sleep mode - off (Power Option) Turn Off Fast Startup (Power Option) From Software Center install Microsoft 365 Apps / 7zip / Adobe / Chrome / Microsoft Teams / Azure / Zscaler 7zip settings (Tools > Option > System: Press + sign >7-Zip: Check Icon in context > settings: check first 5) install crystaldisk software > open file location > copy DiskInfo file and paste it on the folder > open task scheduler as administrator > import task 2 crystaldisk programfile.xml Crystaldisk mail settings (Function > Alert Features > Mail Settings > Change the body details > Email, HID = Laptop Number, Location > Test Mail) Log into zscaler Log into outlook and make sure signature is appearing (If the user is using multiple email accounts and one of them's signature isn't appearing, then install exclaimer and make sure each signature correlate to the respected email account) Log into onedrive and run backup sync Log in Teams Note: Do not use Personal (Settings > uncheck open application in background) Default apps (outlook, chrome and Adobe) Connect myq-site printer, Scan to OneDrive and create a shortcut on the desktop Wallpaper and screensaver (Check first to Abdulgader and Abdulzaher if in the OU > if approved > Open CMD as administrator > gpupdate /force) Disable all startup except Onedrive and Exclaimer Network Drives (If needed) Map Autoline (If needed) DEPLOYMENT Make sure the user is able to print and scan to OneDrive Ask Jucil or Billy to map Autoline, incase it couldn't be done on set up because of different PC name etc.
